1. Graphic Design

The art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences using visual and textual content.

2. Typography

The style, arrangement, and appearance of text. Typography involves font choice, size, spacing, and alignment.

3. Layout

The arrangement of visual elements on a page. It determines how content is structured and guides the viewer's eye.

4. Color Theory

A set of principles used to create harmonious color combinations and understand the emotional impact of colors.

5. Contrast

The difference between elements, such as light and dark, or thick and thin lines, used to create visual interest and focus.

6. White Space (Negative Space)

The empty areas between design elements. It helps improve readability and balance in a design.

7. Visual Hierarchy

The order in which the human eye perceives what it sees. It guides users through the design by importance.

8. Vector Graphics

Graphics made from paths or shapes that can be scaled without losing quality. Commonly used in logos and illustrations.

9. Raster Graphics

Images made from pixels. They can lose quality when scaled. Used in photography and complex illustrations.

10. Brand Identity

A collection of visual elements—logos, colors, fonts—that represent a brand and distinguish it from others.

11. Logo

A symbol or design that represents a company or brand. It can be text-based, icon-based, or a combination.

12. Mockup

A realistic visual of how a design will look in its final form (e.g., on packaging, websites, or print).

13. Wireframe

A basic layout of a webpage or design used to plan structure and functionality before adding design elements.

14. CMYK

A color model used for print: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black).

15. RGB

A color model used for digital screens: Red, Green, and Blue.

16. Bleed

The area outside the design's final dimensions that ensures images or colors extend to the edge when trimmed.

17. Resolution

The clarity of an image, usually measured in DPI (dots per inch) or PPI (pixels per inch).

18. Balance

The distribution of visual weight in a design. Can be symmetrical or asymmetrical.

19. Alignment

Placing elements in a line or in correct relative positions to create visual connection and order.

20. Consistency

Using similar design elements throughout to create a cohesive and professional look.
